Grandma's Silly Cake
When my brother and I were kids, my Grandma used to make this Swedish Tea Ring. Because the nature of the dough was 'elastic' and 'shrunk' when my Grandma rolled the dough, my brother and I called it "silly cake". Or maybe my Grandma coined the term. Silly or not, this pastry is no joke and delicious! Soft, pillowy dough envelopes cinnamon sugar and raisins on the inside. It's drizzled with a frosting glaze on the outside and sprinkled with chopped walnuts. The perfect accompaniment to your breakfast coffee or tea.
